There are so many functions incorporated into the modern cell phone that it has become many things to a variety of people but definitely something that you must have. I can see why most parents consider their children must have one but from the child’s point of view it is merely a fashion statement.

It makes you wonder if the bubble will ever burst on this most amazing success story. Even though the number of available functions in today’s land based telephones has improved, there is still a long way for it to go to compete with the cell phone.

Already the sale and use of landline phones has decreased, despite the global reduction in call costs, as cell phones become ever more useful. There has always been a need to individualize each phone and manufacturers have come up with unique ways to achieve this with an enormous variety of ring tones and screen backgrounds called cellular phone wallpaper.

Now, changing your wallpaper couldn’t be easier with web sites set up just for this purpose. Not only can modern phones communicate between each other which makes transferring screen wallpaper a simple process but it can even be created and shared using the cell-phones digital camera. If you prefer you can use an image you have captured previously on your own digital camera but the set up can take a bit more time.

Cleverly, it is now possible to add your own text to your cellular phone wallpaper as well. Still, even if you have an older cell phone that does not support all this new technology, it does not mean you cannot enjoy your cell phone. Still, even if your model cannot accept new screen backgrounds, it may well accept ring tones which will give you that personal touch. However, if you only want to make calls and send SMS messages, then none of this will matter to you.

You do not need to have special background or ring tones to send a text message do you? Your phone does not need these additional features such as unusual ring tones or fancy cellular phone wallpapers to operate and, if it came to the crunch, what would you prefer; a model that worked when you needed it to or one that just looked attractive?

Many people become angry by others use of phones so remember that you have a responsibility to others when you make a call. Your phone should complement you and not be an extension of yourself as it is you that people will decide whether or not has any social etiquette.

There are many locations where it is not suitable, or accepted that a cell phone should be used, and you will have more respect from others if you turn it off when you are in this type of situation. Good behavior can be catching and yours may lead others to do the same, be different, do not do what others do just because it is easier. It is a two-way thing, if you exhibit telephone etiquette, the people around you will do the same.
